“Excuse me sir, but my Super Bowl is called New York Fashion Week and it’s starts TODAY!”
For those who don’t follow fashion as closely as some others do, the biggest events in fashion happen twice a year in the “big four” fashion mecca’s, New York, London, Paris, and Milan. The concept of fashion week began in London but the tradition has been “official” since 1943 when New York held it’s first official fashion week. Each fashion week lasts an actual week and allows buyers and influencers a taste of what’s upcoming in fashion and trends for the the next season.
Tickets for major shows are expensive and front row seats are as coveted as sleep after a week of having a newborn (lol)!. I will not be going this year, but I will get to enjoy the shows via live stream and runway photos from the show. You can watch the shows along with me HERE and view the official schedule for NYFW. BUT, if I were going, this outfit would be the first look I would sashay around the streets of New York in and shut it down.
I kept this look feminine but edgy with a cute but rich floral jacquard peplum hem dress, and my on-trend heels with socks. This look is a little nod to my style. I love hyper-feminine clothing and all things pink but I also have a wild side (grrrr). What a perfect way to start off the first day of New York Fashion Week than in this outfit that’s the embodiment of all that is me.

My dress is not for sale anymore but I did link two of my favorite girly looks that you can easily pair with a pair of socks and my platform heels and then add a great coat to finish it off. One thing I love to do with a sleeveless dress during the winter is to pair it with a blouse as an undershirt. This one was made by my Friend Derek DeAndre and you can find more of his work Here.
