What are influencer platforms?

These platforms are software solutions that help with a wide range of activities such as brand discovery, job searching and campaign management. They help save time and minimize effort. Instead of spending hours searching for brands on social media, with a simple keyword search, you’d find an extensive list of brands, their niche, campaign budget etc. Many of them even help with managing campaigns; tracking progress, measuring KPIs and generating reports. You are able to sign up for jobs on these influencer platforms and some of them even include ways to track the health of your audience, your reach and your impressions.

Influencer platform and Affiliate platforms. What’s the difference?

Influencer platforms and affiliate platforms are often mistaken as the same and while they do have similarities, they also have major differences. Influencer platforms are platforms that connect brands to influencers while Affiliate platforms connect brands to Affiliates. While influencers can use Affiliate platforms, Affiliates cannot use influencer platforms because they do not always have the influence and community influencers have; they simply have websites and third-party apps they advertise products on. Examples of Influencers platforms are Hashtagpaid, Activate, AspireIQ, Quotient Social and Whalar while examples of Affiliate platforms are Amazon Influencer program, RewardStyle, MagicLinks, Shopstyle and Shareasale.

  1. Activate

Activate is an influencer platform that supports cross-platform collaborations (Instagram, YouTube, Blog, Twitter, Facebook etc.) Activate started out as Bloglovin’, a platform that drove content discovery and promoted good content creators.  They work with some of the top brands in the world like H&M, Olay, Tinder.
