“Stay Calm, Valentine’s Day is tomorrow and i’m here to help”
One of my favorite Valentine’s Day was my first one with my husband. He was such a BAD gift giver. My love language is gifts so I always go ALL OUT and spoil him. I get so much pleasure out of giving. He is the opposite. His love language is providing for us, so when it comes to gift giving, he thinks a book marker is a great gift (rolls eyes). Don’t worry, I’ve trained him and he’s getting better each year. But, our first Valentine’s day was special because it was our first and he gave me my favorite thing…unadulterated time with him. Sometimes, it’s not about gifts but about quality time with the one you love.
Now, don’t get me wrong…I LOVE A GOOD GIFT and a night out, so this post is all about some fun ideas that you and your spouse or single friends can do on Valentine’s Day. FYI, if you’re single, grab your girlfriends or guy friends and plan a night out with them. Here are four great Valentine’s Day date night ideas that are sure to be a hit:
- Game Night: for my singe guys and girl, invite some of your friends over and get Charades orĀ Apples Over Apples out and enjoy each other’s company. You never know if you’ll find that special someone on your Valentine’s Day Game Night.
- Dinner and Netflix: I absolutely hate going out and standing in line for an hour for a table at a restaurant. Last Valentine’s Day, I actually cooked dinner for my husband and we stayed home, ate, talked and watched a movie. We had such a great intimate night and we didn’t have to tip anyone. Remember to keep it light, no talk about kids or finances, just good times.
- Table For Two: Now, if you want to brave the long lines and busy streets on Valentine’s day, make sure you call ahead to get put on their waiting list. Otherwise, pick a time that you know is not too busy, either go really early or later on for your date.
- Get Active: Get out and take your spouse or friends to a bowling alley or Top Golf. Find something active to do around your city and go make some memories. FYI Groupon is the best for finding coupons for great date ideas for Valentine’s Day
Married ladies, remember even if you’re staying home, dress up and make yourself into a gift for your husband. FYI husbands, try your best to look like a snack too. If you’re single and having friend’s over or going out for Valentine’s Day, make sure you look nice, you never know who you might bump into (ayyyyyeeeee).
My outfit is Valentine’s Day is perfect because it’s comfortable, cute and not overly cheesy with a bunch of red or pink. I kept it black and white with pops of red in my knit jacket and booties.

If you’re married, plan something adventurous for your and your husband or wife and remember, no kids or finance talk..focus on the two of you and your love. I hope this helps you in some way.
