REMIXED: How to Style Pants Two Different Ways

“I don’t wear the same thing twice but I do wear the same thing more than once.”

When I was younger, my life goal was not to ever wear the same pants, dress or shoes more than once. I just wish I could go back and slap myself and say, girl get a grip and save your money. I spent every little dime on clothes and shoes because I thought I had to have something new every single day. Well, I’m older and wiser and I’ve come to the realization I don’t have to wear an outfit twice but I can definitely wear my favorite pieces more than one time.

One piece of wisdom I give to anybody that asks for fashion advice is to buy solid every-day pieces. Purchase a great pair of pants, a little black dress (LBD), a button-down shirt and a sensible but sexy pair of heels. These solid pieces can be mixed and remixed to make a bunch of different looks. The pair of polk-dot pants I’m wearing were purchased because I knew I could wear it so many different ways.

In the first look, I subtly mixed prints. I styled my polka-dot pants with a polka-dot H&M men’s button down shirt. I brought in color in my little lip clutch and a pair of bright red Jessica Simpson heels. The starry-night cap brought this whole look together. The next way I styled these solid every-day pants was with an off-shoulder red sweater. I kept the bag and heels the same but added a wide brimmed hat or a more elegant feel. Both looks are so easy to copy and even easier to wear. A great pair of pants always adds more variety and selection to your closet.

Now, which styling of these every-day pants did you like better? Which way would you see yourself wearing the polk-dot pants or would yo have worn it differently? Remember to pick solid pieces that you can interchange and mix for different and unique looks. FYI, If you have a little money after picking up that LBD, those awesome pants, that button-down and those sexy heels, pick up a nice blazer and your closet will be complete.
