What are influencer platforms and why do I need to be on them?! Well….KEEP READING
When I started blogging, I did it for fun. I’ve always loved clothes and fashion and wanted to express that to my friends and family. It wasn’t until two years of spending money, time and energy did I realize that I could get paid to do what I was passionate about. Chile, I wish someone had told me that earlier. Well, this is me telling you, YOU TURN YOUR PASSION INTO A PAYCHECK.
First of all I want to say that if your goal of becoming a blogger is to get free clothes and make lots of money, quit NOW! But, if it’s because you’re passionate about fashion, family, health, or whatever your niche might be, then keep reading. This is for you!
So, you say what are influencer platforms? The best way I can describe it is a platform with lots of jobs that you apply for. Some of these platforms have a set prices per job…i.e. Massive Sway, and some platforms allow you to name your price (Ahalogy/muse). Whichever platform you join, remember you can always try and negotiate for a bigger salary. So, let’s get down to it…what are some my favorite Influencer platforms?
- FOHR
- Pro: Paid work, Verified reach, Instagram Analytics, Informational newsletters and even a youtube series to help bloggers
- Cons: Jobs are hard to get, Pay can be low and negotiating is hard at times, interface is somewhat confusing
- Massive Sway
- Pros: Paid work, interface is easy to navigate, signing up for jobs is really quick and easy and getting jobs on there is relatively easy
- Cons: Limited jobs, Low pay and unwilling to negotiate most of the time
- Influenster
- Pros: It’s an app that you can use from your phone, they send out great PR boxes, great for beginner bloggers
- Cons: unpaid for the most part and you have to review a lot of products before they send you a free package
- Ahalogy
- Pros: Name your price for jobs, lots of diverse companies work with this platform, there are always new jobs popping up, in-depth briefs, great support staff
- Cons: whew, you have to write a thesis to get a job, very in-depth application process, jobs are very competitive and hard to get, lots of deliverables and you have to have a blog
- Social Native/ Mavrck/ Izea/ Thetrellis
- The platforms are great for beginners and they send out jobs constantly. However, pay is low.
- Upfluence
- Great for creators as well as brands. Allows for in-depth analysis of creators audience and authenticity. Plenty of jobs for influencers as well
- Linkedin
- Now a lot of you think this is just a business app, but you can reach out to brands this way. Also, I’ve had brands reach out to me via email and direct message to work with me because of my LinkedIn posts. Don’t sleep on LinkedIn
- Clever
- Great influencer platform and allows you to quote your own rates. There is a vetting process of about three weeks to get onto the platform, but great diverse work and companies.
- Tapfluence:
- This platform is so easy to join. The jobs are there for you to bid on and the jobs they send match your demographic and niche. You can read the deliverables and quote your price for them.
Now, these are just few of the influencer platforms that I know and love. Take time out and do your research and find more that work well for you. If you know of any I didn’t list, comment below and help a sister out. Remember, sometimes it’s not all about being paid. Taking in-kind/free work allows you to show other brands that you are working and get some brand work under your belt.
When you are first starting take any job that aligns with your niche but as you grow, remember to charge your worth and nothing less. And remember, you can charge at 2K followers, don’t let numbers discourage you from joining these platforms. Hope this helped in some way.
