Static: Finding Your Voice Through All the Noise

Copy my homework but change a few things so it deosn’t look the same

Finding your voice can be a hard thing. I remember when I came from Africa, I wanted to be just like every other American kid. I didn’t want to talk funny, I didn’t want to take Egusi and pounded yam to school, I wanted to wear jeans and braids like every other person but my mum was FULLY Nigerian and made sure we knew we were different. Now rewind to 2018 and I love my individuality…I love my voice. It’s taken me a while to get to this point, but thank God for age and wisdom.

Social media, however, tells us that we HAVE to be the same to thrive. It tell us that we have to be shaped like the supermodels and housewives, we have to dress like the musicians and we have to be fake ‘happy’ like every other blogger and person out there. SAY NO! Say no to conformity and keep it 100% authentic.

When it comes to fashion, find your niche..find what works for you, your body and your audience and don’t conform to fit the mold of what’s “popular” at the time. A blogger friend told me the other day not to follow the fads that happen online or change my perspective and voice. That’s my advice to you! Whether you’re a blogger, whether you have a full-time job or are a full-time mom, do what makes you the best you possible. You don’t have to parent like anybody else, be a lawyer like any other lawyer, dress like anybody else…You are You not anyone else.

Imitation is a beautiful thing, just don’t lose yourself trying to be like everyone else!

Now, my look today is an original piece by SGTCclothing. Can y’all tell I love this brand?! This Bubu Jumpsuit fits everyone and looks just as flattering on every body type.
